Glossary

Content Communication: Part I of the Scoring Guide for Student Products. This section includes:

  • Preparation Process
  • Content Knowledge,
  • Format and Organization.

The Scoring Guide automatically generates the characteristics of Part I for each of the 14 Types of Communication.

Craftsmanship of Expression: Part II of the Scoring Guide for Student Products. This section includes:

  • Text Communication
  • Image Communication
  • Voice and Sound Communication
  • Design of Communication
  • Presentation of Communication
  • Interactivity of Communication.

The scorer selects the categories appropriate to the student product.

Rubric: A rubric is designed to measure each student's performance vis-à-vis a standard. Rubrics are usually designed by teachers to guide them in grading student work.

Scoring Guide: A scoring guide is designed to help set and raise the bar of student achievement. Assessment specialists design them for teachers and other evaluators.

Student Products: Student work produced using computers.
