As of September 30, 2005, the North Central Regional Technology in Education Consortium is no longer in operation.

Goals

These lessons are designed to allow students to improve their descriptive writing skills. The students will collect information from a pictorial source and describe the picture in detailed, clear, and concise language.

National Standards for English Language Arts

Standard: "Demonstrates competence in the general skills and strategies of the writing process."

Benchmark: "Demonstrates competence in expressive writing." (p. 295)

Standard: "Demonstrates competence in the stylistic and rhetorical aspects of writing."

Benchmark: "Writes compositions that show attempts to use descriptive language that clarifies and enhances ideas." (p. 299)
