As of September 30, 2005, the North Central Regional Technology in Education Consortium is no longer in operation.
The activities begin in one large group and then break into five groups of four. If more than one or two computer stations are available, teachers should consider temporarily dividing up groups at the computers during rotation to maximize Internet research.
Give students 15 minutes at each station during the rotation, for a total of 75 minutes of research time. Whenever possible, each station should be isolated from the others to keep groups focused. You may consider sending some groups to the school library and/or computer lab. The teacher and librarian should be available to provide extra research help for students who need it. Some special needs students may learn more if you limit the number of stations and provide extra time outside of class.
