As of September 30, 2005, the North Central Regional Technology in Education Consortium is no longer in operation.
Students need to know the definitions of the words they encounter in the viewing guide in order to become involved in the process. The teacher who is constructing the materials can use words students already know, or students can be given a set of definitions ahead of time, or students can pool their knowledge within their group and use the dictionary to find definitions of words unknown by group members. Whatever the source of the definitions, they are basic to learning the lesson.
