Pictures provide an excellent source of information and ideas in all curriculum areas. By providing viewing guides for students, teachers are showing students how to comprehend the information found in pictures. Giving students a structure gives them an opportunity to learn how to obtain information from nonprint material. While all students can use graphic data to enhance their understanding of content material, it is important to mention that some students may need nonprint media to reach their potential as learners.
