This lesson can be related to several different disciplines, including -- but not limited to -- the following:
Mathematics: This lesson incorporates the use of visualizing sets and intersections of these sets to include specific possible answers to questions.
Social studies (civics and geography): This lesson incorporates different criteria that can be used in the selection of geographic locations for particular purposes. These purposes include land use planning (e.g., zoning, land use management, and availability of necessary resources).
