Assessment

A variety of assessment tools have been incorporated with the lessons. Students are assessed through teacher observation, peer assessment, and project rubrics.

Activity Two: Example rubric.

Students will be assessed on the accuracy of the information represented by the model and their speaking skills during the presentation.

Activity Three: Example Research Guide.

Please address the following categories in your report. You may want to organize your work so that specific team members are responsible for one or two areas. Please design one slide (card, etc.) to address each question.

  1. Definition of the biome you are investigating. (What is a desert?)

  2. Is there more than one type of the biome you are investigating? (What are the various types of deserts?)

  3. What causes the biome you are investigating to develop? (What causes a desert?)

  4. Where is the biome you are investigating located?

  5. What plants grow in the biome you are investigating?

  6. What animals live in the biome you are investigating?

  7. What unusual or interesting facts did you discover?
