1. What did the class do after they finished the book?

Our next project included reading The Red Badge of Courage. Then we also went onto the Internet and found information about historic Richmondtown, which is on Staten Island. During the summer they have reenactments of Civil War skirmishes. We went to a reenactment of a Civil War skirmish and also saw living history there. People were dressed in the [clothes of the] period. There were activities all day long. It was like stepping back into history. And then they wrote pieces on that. We also went on the Internet and found diaries written by people who were in the Civil War.
