Crystal: Yes, we did the pre- and post-tests for the making work pay curriculum. Each week we had a pre-test at the beginning of the week and then a post-test at the end of the week. We also did informal assessments ongoing throughout the time.
We used self-evaluation. They were able to evaluate where they thought they were at the beginning of the week and where they felt they were at the end of the week. That did not give us the data that we really wanted to see as far as growth goes. So for our next go around with this, we're going to have more specific testing criteria and we're going to do a pre-test at the beginning of the four-week phase this time, and then not do another one until the end of the four-week phase. Whereas, we pre- and post-tested at the beginning of and end of each week before.
