4. Did learners discuss and critique each others work? How was this done and what were the results?

Crystal: They definitely discussed and critiqued each other's work. They did it formally and informally. We did peer editing. The atmosphere that was created in the classroom through the community building activities—the group dynamics that we had going on in that classroom—were such that the results that came out of individuals discussing each other's work were truly good results, beneficial results. They felt that the feedback they got from their peers was valuable feedback. They made changes accordingly. The people that were doing the critiquing felt good that they were helping another person, and then that person felt good about getting that input and making those changes.
