1. How do students respond to the prospect of publishing their work online?

Some of them respond very positively and some of them are negative. I ask them if I can put it online, and many of them say no and some of them say yes. And some of them get so excited that they tell their parents or their friends in Mexico or whatever country they are from to go look at the Web so they can see their writing. In Karen's case, I'm able to archive her work from when she was in my class in Beginning One all the way up through her educational experience. So when Karen gets done with her program here, she'll have a portfolio of all her work that she's done.
