For most listservs there is a message that you have to send to
a specific address that you will find on somebody's Web page or
somewhere and your message has to say "subscribe," the name of the
list(serv) like Memories, and your name. And when you send that
message, the computer you are sending it to adds you to a list.
And then whenever a (new) message is sent, your name is always included
and your address and whatever message is [being] sent so you [can]
receive it back.
