1. How much time do students have to work on the computer relative to total class time?
It's hard for me to make a specific ratio because it often depends at what point of the semester we're in and what the activity is. Towards the beginning of the semester when computer literacy is the content area that we're focusing on, we may spend an hour or more, two or three times a week, working on the computer. Later on we may spend an entire week without touching it during the formal class time, although by that time students are so comfortable that they will automatically gravitate to the computer before class, during breaks, and afterwards.
