4. Do you provide instruction for computer usage, keyboarding skills, etc., and if so, what did that instruction entail?

We do start from the very beginning. It takes place over eight to ten weeks. We start with, How do you turn the computer on? How do you use the mouse? What does the keyboard look like? Where you find things. And how you use the keyboard. I don't teach keyboarding skills per se, but I introduce them to a keyboarding program that they can use if they want to on their own. We have lots of word processing and authoring programs that give them the opportunity to practice on a computer. We have CD-ROMs that give them slow practice first so that by the time they get to this exercise they're fairly comfortable with the computer itself. It's now just pulling that all together and using it as a resource.
