2. How much time is spent teaching Basic English literacy skills before the students work on the computer?

We try to integrate it as much as we can. We start using the computer even in beginning-level classes and we start slowly and we start simply. We don't make too many assumptions about what a student's literacy in basic English is before we start using the computer. It's more a matter of how do we use it and in what way do we present it rather than waiting and saying, "You have to be at such and such a level before you are allowed to touch the machine."
