1. What previous computer skills did these students have?

Our students have two computer lab periods in our schoolwide lab for 40 minutes each week. Our students work on word processing. They worked on drawing skills. They have worked on a little database work, and they have done some spreadsheet work in that we use the spreadsheet to put down mathematical information and create graphs on the computer with that particular work. They have had a lot of experience in word processing. They have had some experience in spreadsheets, not in the way that we used them, but in a different manner. They were familiar with the framework of it, even if they didn't know how to do the formulas. Also, they have used some art programs like Kid Pix, and that helped. They could use those sort of things when they did their travel posters, if they wished, but most of them did them by hand.
