PROJECT MANAGEMENT

4. How long did it take you to plan this project?

I sat down with Mary Vitaioli from Washington School and Carla Willms the other fifth-grade teacher at Greenwood. We spent about three hours in a couple of sessions sitting down and planning the big unit. Then I would probably say we spent, maybe through the course of the unit in discussing, another couple of hours maybe revising things, deciding this didn't work quite the way we had hoped, and collaborating. Because, some of the things that Mary did since she did the project earlier, gave me some clues into ways I might want to do something a little bit different as I came across that same particular item in my project. I would say about five hours of teacher preparation.
