1. Would this project be assessed individually or as a group?

The students were assessed both individually and as a group. Before the project, my co-worker and I sat down and determined which parts of the project would be individual assessment and which parts would be group assessment. We clearly explained that to the students—that some of the project was based on what they did individually, and some of it was based on what they did as a group. The kids had varying responses to that, but I think this is the way that education will be going. I think this is the way our work force is. Sometimes you have a group project where everyone, whether you did all the work, or a little of the work, or none of the work, gains the credit. Then sometimes you are assessed on what you do individually. I think our students need to learn how to work cooperatively with other people and then also know that sometimes they are responsible for a specific amount of work that they have to do, and they are going to be graded for it.
