8. Could you do this unit with fewer computers? If so, how?

Yes, I feel you could do this. You would have to rely a little bit more on your book resources. We were lucky enough to have a number of CDs and we had enough computers so that the kids could do a lot of their research on the computer. But, as long as you had one computer that is online and if you only had one computer, the kids could still do the research using hard copies of materials, and I am sure it would be very successful. I think we all have in the past done wonderful projects without the use of the computer. The computer makes it easier. It gives the kids a little added excitement. Their ability to research and have access to updated and new information is better than your hard text, but you could still accomplish the same idea using regular resource materials.
