3. How does this experience change the students as learners?

I have seen real changes in student attitudes and in student confidence as a result of using Internet-based resources. Adult learners see themselves as participating in activities that are appropriate for adults, in content that is of interest to adults. They gain confidence in themselves as learners, they gain confidence in their abilities to use technology, and I think most of all they develop more of a curiosity about and a connection to the world around them. In my experience, adult learners can sometimes feel isolated and disconnected from the world at large. And when they are able to participate in practicing skills in a real-world context, this gives them confidence and curiosity to really continue learning.
