5. How can you structure learning for these types of activities?
The class varies in size, usually 15 to 20 students, and there are six computers in the classroom with Internet access. I find it's usually a good idea to have learners work in pairs at the computer because then there's that interaction and that's the discussion and decision making among the pair. Otherwise, many of the activities that are suggested can be adapted for really any learning situation. One of the things that I like so much about it is people who are in tutoring situations, or one-on-one, volunteering in a library perhaps, where there are Internet connections. . . that these materials can also be in that kind of educational or teaching and learning situation as well. But in this particular setting a lot of class time is spent in small groups rather than a person working in isolation.
