1. What specific steps do you follow when you begin an electronic field trip project? How do you go about designing a lesson plan?

When beginning an electronic field trip project, I first check with learners in the program to see if this is something they will be interested in using as a context for studying other basic skills. Usually then I do some sort of an assessment. I may just ask them to write down everything they know about Antarctica, for example. That way I have a basic idea of the knowledge base as we begin. In designing the particular lessons, actually, I pick and choose from the lessons that are already there for my use, and I adapt them to adult learners' needs and capabilities.
