This site ties in well with Central America units such as the Mayans, and Aztecs. It is written for kids and has good questions and answer sites, as well as a glossary just waiting to be clicked! There is even a link forkids to click to find out what they can do to help save the rainforests.

Wondering what to do on a rainy afternoon? This is a huge Web site for both kids and adults. Book reviews, museum browsers, author pages--even a description of the medieval world--abound. Included also are youth religious organizations--they are inclusive of Christianity, Islam, and Judaism--and other organizations. These may need some "teacher briefing" before kids look at them. All in all, this is a great site. Introduce your students(and yourself) to this page immediately.

Authentic site of Native American culture. Students doing research on Native American way of life will find this especially useful. Graphics of the items are very detailed and included things like baskets, leather pouches, quill work, birch items and more. Also includes folklore, legends, essays, and poetry. The headings are descriptive and using the site is pretty intuitive. It does load slowly but includes hard to come by information. Other links are included. For grades 5-8. Could be used across the curriculum.
