In general, long bars on the Single Rating Screen indicate areas of strength. Shorter bars may
reveal areas that need work. Your planning team can use this information to establish priority
areas in the technology plan. Individuals can use this information to make decisions about their
instructional practice.
The Comparison Screen allows you to monitor progress over time. Bars that extend to the right
of the zero line indicate improvement; bars to the left reveal areas where progress has receded.
Use the Grid Comparison Screen to monitor the general direction of improvement over time for
both learning and technology. If your "dot" is moving toward the upper right hand corner of the
grid, you are making progress toward engaged learning and high performance technology.
If you choose "See Data" you will see the main results screen.
In the lower right of the screen is a box that lets you choose
which rating session results you want to view.
Most of all, the process of using this tool should help you and your team to discuss and debate
issues of learning and technology so that you set and monitor your own goals that are in the best
interest of your students. You should consider:
Why did we get these results?
Are we satisfied with these results? Why or why not?
Where do we want to go from here?
How can we get there?
This program uses a weighted scoring system. The average score for each learning indicator is
calculated by multiplying the percentage assigned to foils one, two, and three by 1, 3, and 6
respectively adding these results together, and dividing by 3. For the technology indicators foils
one, two, and three are worth 1, 3, and 6 points, respectively. All averages are then converted to
percentages.
